Classes aimed at people who have never dealt with martial arts

Starting martial arts training can be quite a challenge, especially if you are thrown into a group of people with much more experience. We understand it perfectly, that's why we have created a group for you in which you will feel comfortable at the beginning of your warrior journey. Under the watchful eye of the best trainers with many years of experience, you will get acquainted with our unique 12 week program containing elements of self-defense and learning the basic positions, levers and chokes used in combat.

Rio Grappling Club

Our mission is to provide a safe and friendly environment in which each person can train and learn martial arts in a relaxed and cheerful way, improve their form, develop concentration, confidence and perseverance at the same time.

We focus on both the recreational and competitive aspects of the sports we teach. We want to develop our club without too much pursuit of excellence, but to become one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jiustu and MMA academies.

The club was founded in 2003 by Roberto Atalla, a three-time BJJ world champion who learned combat from the famous Gracie family in Rio de Janeiro. Rio Grappling Club currently associates over 70 schools in Europe, Africa, North and South America.

In Poland, the network of our schools is constantly expanding. Currently, you can find us in about 15 cities. List

Our motto : “ BJJ with out borders" (BJJ without borders) . We understand that our martial arts can be practiced by people of all walks of life , regardless of age span>, gender, ethnicity, or residence .

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu section is open to both men and women. The program of classes is divided into different groups of advancement - beginner, intermediate, advanced and competition groups. We train both recreationally and for competitions, so everyone will find something for themselves. For the first class, all you need is a sports outfit (T-shirt and shorts).

BJJ training for children

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a sport that harmoniously develops your child's whole body, teaches them how to behave in an emergency and teaches them lots of fun. 

If your child is 6 to 14 years old, he will have great fun and learn in our classes. The first lesson is free and all you need is shorts and a T-shirt.

MMA

MMA section classes are open to both women and men. The program of classes is divided into different groups of advancement - beginner, intermediate, advanced and competition groups. We train both recreationally and for competitions, so everyone will find something for themselves. For the first class, all you need is a sports outfit (T-shirt and shorts).

BOX

Free boxing classes for beginners every Saturday at 12:00. We invite all Rio Top Gym and Rio Grappling Club members who are bored with the traditional training plan at the gym. Boxing is our answer for people who want challenging classes focused on aerobic and strength training. You need short t-shirt shorts and a decision to come over and finally give it a try!

Personal training

It is possible to practice individually with an instructor (or in a group of 2-3 people) at any convenient time.

Classes for advanced people, beginners and those who want to start Jiu-Jitsu or MMA training, but do not have free time in the evening hours.

We invite you to our club, one of the largest and best-equipped gyms in Wrocław. On two levels and 1,200 m² you will find 6 independent training zones, apart from the wrestling mat and the octagon, you will find a stretch zone, cardio zone, functional training zone, machines and free weights zone.

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Trainings Wrocław

    Brazilian jiu-jitsu is based on holds. Grips on the ground are often performed with the legs by hooking or hugging a part of the opponent's body. One of the elements characteristic of Brazilian jiu-jitsu is the so-called guard. A garde is when a standing or kneeling opponent is placed under his feet by a lying competitor. The so-called seat, which consists in sitting astride a downed opponent. It is considered by many to be the most effective technique of hand-to-hand combat without the use of weapons. Despite the fact that you do not use direct blows, it is very good at overpowering the opponent. The name of the discipline comes from jiu-jitsu, a traditional Japanese martial art with a rich repertoire of punches, including punches and kicks. However, the BJJ technique itself is derived from a much milder form of jiu-jitsu, or judo. After judo became popular in Brazil, the people of this country began to modify this style of fighting by adding elements known from wrestling. BJJ includes stand-up, close-quarters and ground combat. The basic two formulas of fighting in BJJ are: gi (kimono) combat, and submission fighting. Brazilian jiu-jitsu focuses on fighting one opponent. The goal of the fight is to take control of the opponent by inflicting controlled pain (levers) or under the threat of losing consciousness - from pain or choking. The fight in Brazilian jiu-jitsu takes place mainly on the ground floor. The tactic is to bring the opponent to the ground floor, immobilize him and perform a finishing technique - a lever or choke, forcing the opponent to surrender or knock him unconscious. Brazilian jiu-jitsu players fight in close combat, which makes it even more difficult for their opponents to strike. Nowadays, it is one of the most popular martial arts, which owes its popularity to MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) sports. MMA fighters appreciate the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu the most, because it is very effective in knocking the opponent to the ground without hurting him.

  • Mixed martial arts (MMA) training Wrocław


    A sporting discipline in which competitors of martial arts and sports compete with a wide range of permitted techniques (in principle, all techniques permitted in other unarmed combat sports are allowed). Mixed martial arts express one of the modern trends in the development of martial arts - providing a sporting spectacle in which the fight is fought with as few restrictions as possible, but at the same time minimizing the risk of death and serious, permanent injury.

  • Wrestling Wrocław

    Wrestling - a combat sport involving a physical struggle between two fighters - the fight is hand-to-hand by using grips.

    The origins of this sport go back to ancient times, when the wrestling struggle was one of the attractions of the Olympic Games organized in Greece. It was the first sport competition. In Japan, the equivalent of wrestling is sumo competition. The fight in wrestling lasts two rounds of 3 minutes each. with a break of 30 sec. or two rounds of 2 min. with a break of 30 seconds.
